1. Om
Om is the original and most powerful mantra. It is the primal sound of
the Divine in its essential manifestation. In the beginning was the
word, and the word was God. (OM)

3. Om bolo sat guru, bhagavan ki, jai
The Divine is the only Real teacher, Alleluia!!
4. lokah samasta sukhino bhavantu
May all beings everywhere be happy and free, and may the thoughts,
words, and actions of my own life, contribute in some way, to the
happiness and freedom for all.
5. guru Brahma guru Vishnu guru devo Maheshwara, guru sak shat param brahma, tash mayi shri guruvay namaha
Our creation is that Guru, the duration of our lives is that Guru, our
trials, illnesses, calamties, and the death of the body is that Guru.
There is a Guru near by, and a Guru that is beyond the beyond. I offer
all my efforts to the Guru, the remover of darkness.
6. guru satyam guru jnanam guru anandam guru shanti
My teacher is the Truth, My Teacher is the Knowledge, My Teacher is the Bliss, My teacher is the peace.
7. Sat-sangatve nissangatvam, nissangatve nirmohatvam, nirmohatve
nischcala-tattvam, nischcala-tattve jivanmukti, bhaja govindam bhaja
govindam, bhaja govindam mudha-mate
Good and virtuous company gives rise to non-attachment. From
non-attachment comes freedom from delusion. With freedom from delusion,
one feels the changeless reality. Experiencing that changeless reality,
one attains liberation in this life. I-AM is the ocean of awareness.
Realizing this, one feels, "I am not this body and mind, although I
have a body and mind." Realize Govinda, realize Govinda, realize
Govinda in your heart, O wise one
8. Om tryambakam yajamahe, sugandhim pushti-vardhanam urvarukam iva bandhanan mrityor muksiya mamrtat (from Shukla-Yajur Veda)
We worship the supreme light, the Absolute Shiva, who has three eyes,
who is fragrant and nourishes all beings. This light is the expression
and communication of our life, and it is our physical, mental, and
spiritual radiation and prosperity. Kindly release us from all
calamities, bondage, and suffering, just as the cucumber is released
from its stalk without any injury. May our minds be absorbed into
Shiva, amrtam (nectar), the ocean of tranquility.
9. Om bhur bhuvah svah, tat savitur varenyam, bhargo devasya dhimahi, dhiyo yo nah pracodayat
(The Gayatri Mantra is considered the most sacred mantra in India,
second only to the primordial sound, OM) Earth Space Heavens. We
meditate on the Divine light of the radiant source. May that inspire
our hearts and thoughts.
10. Bodhi rupam bodhi-sattvam, bodhi-gamyam anamayam parama-satyam parama-shantam, parama-brahma parat-param
It is of this form and essence of intelligence and it is
experienced through intuition. It is pure, simple and transcendental.
It is ultimate reality, ultimate truth and ultimate tranquility; which
is called Brahman. It is smaller than the nucleus and greater than
greatest.
11. sarvesham svasti bhavatu, sarvesham shantir bhavatu, sarvesham purnam bhavatu, sarvesham mangalam bhavatu
May auspiciousness be unto all, May peace be unto all, May fullness be unto all, May prosperity be unto all.
12. Om purnam adah purnam idam, purnat purnam udacyate, purnasya purnam adaya, purnam evavashisyat
(from Yajur Veda and Isha Upanishad)
That is whole. This is whole. From the whole the whole becomes
manifest. From the whole when the whole is negated, what remains is
again the whole.
13. Om brahmanandam parama-sukhadam, kevalam jnana-murtim,
dvandvatitam gagana-sadrsham, tat-tvam-asyadi-lakshyam, ekam nityam
vimalam acalam, sarva-dhi-saksi-bhutam, bhavatitam tri-guna rahitam,
sad-gurum tam namami

Salutations to that inner Guru, the inner guiding light, which is
never-ending bliss, the giver of supreme happiness,
one-without-a-second pulsation of consciousness beyond dualism, beyond
subject and object; which is like the blue sky and is indicated by such
statements as, “Thou art That” and “I and my Father are one,” and which
is the final aim of life; one eternal, pure, without pollution, every
time with you, the witness of all wisdom, beyond all states of being
and beyond the three gunas—sattva (electron), rajas (proton), and tamas
(neutron). I bow to that inner Guru.

14. Om vande gurunam caranaravinde,
sandarshita-svatma-sukhava-bodhe, nihshreysase jangalikayamane,
samsara-hala-hala-mohashantyai, abahu-purushakaram
sankha-cakrasi-dharinam, sahasra-shirsam svetam pranamami Patanjalim
I bow to the lotus feet of the Guru who awakens insight into the
happiness of pure being. Who is the refuge and the jungle physician who
eliminates the delusion caused by the poisonous snake of samsara. I
prostrate before the sage Patanjali who has thousands of radiant white
heads and who has, as far as his arms, assumed the form of a man
holding a conch shell, a wheel, and a sword.

Accept us both together. Protect us both together. May our knowledge and strength increase. May we not resent one another.
17. Om sarva mangala-mangalye shive-sarvatha-sadhike, sharanye tryambake gauri Narayani namo’sthu te
(from Durga Saptashati, Chapter 11)
I salute the three-eyed Divine Mother, Narayani, who brings total
auspiciousness and who fulfills the desire for liberation. Realization
arises with her blessings. Who is the world itself. Only through the
experiences of life can the soul be perfected. Honor this gift, your
life, bow to Mother Nature.
18. Hari Om
Invocation to Hari, the remover of all negative karmic tendencies, enabling the soul to come face to face with God.
19. Shri Ram Jai Ram
Victory to Lord Ram.
20. Om Shri Durgayai Namaha
Invocation to the Divine Mother Durga. She is the Shakti of pure
consciousness. Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva unified their intention to form
the being Shri Durga. She is the Warrior Goddess who destroys all
demons of ego.
21. Om Shri Maha-Lakshmyai Namaha
Lakshmi is the bountiful provider. She is beauty. All wealth,
prosperity and good fortune comes from her. She is the Shakti of
Narayana. Her arms are always open and generous.
22. Om Aim Saraswatyai Namaha
Invocation to the Goddess Sarasvati. She is Brahma, the creator’s
Shakti and is the imaginative and manifesting power which creates
ideas, words and things. She gives all knowledge of the arts and
sciences of language, music, dance, painting, architecture, sculpture,
astronomy, physics, mathematics, biology, etc. She makes it possible to
learn.
23. Om Shri Hanumate Namaha
Invocation to Lord Hanuman. He is the perfection of devotion. He
manifests as prana (life force) its most potent and subtle level.

Krishna affectionately calls Radha, his beloved the name Rama which means my queen! Radha calls to Krishna which means the one who has captured my heart, mind, body and soul, my everything, my all! This is a love dialogue between the soul (Radha) and God (Krishna).

By chanting OM one realized the meaning of OM.
YS I.29 tatah pratyak-chetanadhi-gamo-api-antaraya-abhavashcha
From repetition and reflection of OM, comes Cosmic Consciousness as well as the destruction of physical and mental diseases.
YS I. 34 prachardana vidharanabhyam va pranasya
Another method to maintain calmness is by exhalation and retention of breath.
YS I. 36 vishoka va jyotismati
Concentration on the Divine produces lightness and self-confidence.
YS I.39 yatha abhimata dhyana va
Meditation is achieved when one concentrates on his or her own aspect of the Divine.
Book Two: Sadhana Pada: Portion on Practice
YS II.33 vitarka badhane pratipaksa bhavanam
When disturbed by disturbing thoughts, think of the opposite.
YS II.34 ahimsa pratisthayam tat samnidhau vaira tyagah
The practitioner will cease to encounter hostility from others by practicing non-harming and non-violence.
Book Three: Vibhti Pada: Portion on Accomplishments
YS III.2 tatra pratyaya-ekatanata dhyanam
When you focus your attention (psychic energy) on one object or when you fixate your mental suggestion on one idea and hold it there continuously without distraction, the result is meditation.
YS III.24 maitri-adishu balani
Through compassion, strength comes.
Book Four: Kaivalya Pada: Portion on Absoluteness
YS IV. 4 nirmana-chittani asmita-matrat
The individual consciousness comes from Cosmic Consciousness or the self arises from the Self.
YS IV.7 karma-asukla-akrsnam yoginas-tridham-itaresam
The actions of ordinary people are good, bad or mixed, while the actions of a realized yogi are neither good nor bad nor mixed, for the selfless yogi has renounced the fruits of their actions and by doing so has realized God as the ultimate doer (or non-doer).
YS IV. 15 vastu-samye citta-bhedat tayor vibhaktah panthah
Each individual person perceives the same object in a different way, according to their own state of mind and projections. Everything is empty from it’s own side and appears according to how you see it.
YS IV.28 hanam esam kleshavad uktam
The greatest obstacle to the practice is one’s own prejudices based on ones own preferences.
YS IV.29 prasamkhyane api akuseedasya sarvatha viveka-khyater dharma-meghah samadhih
Cosmic Consciousness, dharma-mega Samadhi, comes to those who are free of all selfish desires and motives.
YS IV.33 ksana-pratiyogi parinamaparanta nirgrahyah kramah
The succession of changes (the uninterrupted sequence of moments) is only recognized as distinct moments when one has transcended those moments and is at the other end.
YS IV.34 purusartha-shunyanam gunanam prati-prasavah kaivalyam svarupa-pratistha va chitta-saktir iti
When Self Realization comes, what seems like a great achievement from an individual’s perspective is a non-event from the perspective of the Self. All the ups and downs, struggles and joys of countless lifetimes exist on a finite level only. To the Eternal, ever present Self, (the one who is forever free), enlightenment is a non-event, as there was never ever any un-enlightenment. It is all light!

BG III. 25 saktah karmanyavidvamiso yatha kurvanti bharata kuryad vidvans tathasaktas cikirsur lokasamgraham
The unwise are attached to their actions, while the wise are unattached and act selflessly to benefit the world.
BG IV.7 yada yada hi dharmasya glanir bhavati bharata abhyutthanam adharmasya tadatmanam srjamyaham
Whenever there is a decrease of righteousness in the world and unrighteousness seems to be on the rise. The Lord of mercy and compassion manifest to bring balance.
BG IV.20 tyaktva karmaphalasangam nityatrpto nirasrayah karmany abhipravrtto pi naiva kimcit karoti sah
He who has let go of the results of his actions is content and free of dependency, knowing that it is not he who acts even when performing actions.
BG IV.22 yadrcchalabhasamtusto dvandvatito vimatsarah samah siddhav asiddhau ca krtva pi na nibadhyate
For the one who is content with whatever comes and is not attached to their preferences, or moved by success or failure, even though it may seem like they act they are not bound by their actions, thus they are freed from the karmic repercussions of their actions.
BG IV.24 Brahmarpanam Brahma-havir, Brahmagnau Brahmana hutam, Brahmaiva tena gantavyam, Brahma-karma-samadhina
Perceive Brahman everywhere and in all things. Brahman is the ladle; Brahman, is the food, Brahman is the fire; Brahman has prepared the food and Brahman will be the eater of the food. Finally, Brahman is the goal to be reached. When used as a blessing over food the result is that the meal, the food, the ones who are offering, the action of offering, and the result of offering to the Divine are all merged into knowledge of the Self.
BG VI.8 jnanavijnanatrptatma kutastho vijitendriyah yukta ityucuate yogi samalostasmakancanah
A true yogi has equanimity of mind and is able to perceive, a lump of clay, a stone, or a nugget of gold as the same.
BG VI.9 suhrnmitraryudasina madhyasthadvesyabandhusu sadhusv api ca papesu samabuddhir visisyate
A person stands supreme who has equal regard for friends, companions, enemies, neutral arbiters, hateful people, relatives, saints and sinners.
BG VI.29 sarvabhutastham atmanam sarvabhutani catmani iksate yogayuktatma sarvatra samadarsanah
Through the practice of yoga, the yogi sees the Divine Self in all beings at all times.
BG IX.26 pattram puspam phalam toyam yo me bhaktya prayacchati tad aham bhaktyupahrtam asnami prayatatmanah
Whatever is offered to Me with a pure loving heart, no matter if it is as small as a leaf, a flower, a piece of fruit, or a sip of water, I will accept it.

HYP I.56 asanam kumbhakam citram mudrakhyam karanam tatha atha nada nusan dhanama bhyasanu kramo
Asana, kumbhaka (pranayama), mudras and concentration on the inner sound (nada) comprise the sequence of hatha yoga.
HYP II.1 athasane drdhe yogi vasti hitamitasanah gurupadistamargena pranayaman samabhyaset
After having established a regular asana practice and following a pure diet for some time, the yogi should then practice pranayama to the instructions of a qualified guru.
HYP IV.1 namah Shivaya gurave nada-bindu-kalatmane niranjana-padam yati nityam yatra parayanah
Salutations to the nadam, which is the inner guide and the inner life, the dispenser of happiness to all! It is the inner guru appearing as nada, bindu and kala. One who is devoted to the inner guru, the nada, the inner music, obtains the highest bliss.
HYP IV.93 sarvacintam parityajya savadhanena cetasa nada evanusamdheyo yogasmrajyamicchata
One who desires the highest yoga should thus explore the nada with an attentive mind and abandon all anxious thoughts.
HYP IV.100 anahatasya sabdasya dhvanirya upalabhyate dhvanerantargatam jyotir-jyotir-antarantarga manah manastatra layam yati tadvisnoh paramam padam
One hears the unstruck sound (anahata shadba); the quintessence of that sound is the supreme object. On hearing that, the mind becomes one with that object of knowledge and is dissolved therein. What remains is the Supreme Self.
